What is personal data?

Personal data is any information about an identified or identifiable natural person. The processing of personal data is any act performed on personal data. This includes, for example, collecting, storing, transmitting, modifying, deleting, organising data, as well as simply reading data.

What is the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)?

From 25 May 2018, the General Regulation on the Protection of Personal Data (GDPR) will apply to the processing of personal data. The General Regulation is directly applicable and aims to ensure better protection of personal data by giving individuals more control over their data. The General Regulation was published in the Official Journal of the European Union on May 4, 2016.
